Winter Blue Birds – A painting of our bluebirds’ among “Sawbriar”. This vine feels deadly, almost like barbed wire if you should unknowingly wander into its grip. Early winter leaves of the sawbriar after frost shows beautiful color. Some of the last color of the season. The vine limbs anything within reach and grows extremely fast and long. Sawbriar is very woody, hard to break, and grows from a tuber in ground that would resemble Ginger. The female bluebird shows much brown color this time of year. I very much enjoyed painting her.
