This painting was commissioned by the town of Walhalla, SC, where I live, and was funded by a grant from the Oconee County Arts and Historical Commission. The original hangs in City Hall. The Oconee Azalea plant has been named the official shrub of Oconee county. The color of the flower ranges from pale yellow, light to dark pinks, dark wines, and bright oranges. It grows wild thru out our mountain ranges.
