Favorite story ever about a painting. When we started building our home on our farmland, my husband gave me this older black ford truck. I beat that truck all to pieces hauling rocks and landscape materials trying to turn a piece of property into a farm and home. After some time, he sold this truck and replaced it with another. You see, the problem is he is a Ford dealer So, I could be driving thru town with my “new” used truck and someone would call my husband and buy the truck. This kept happening, many times I was without a truck. Rule #1 never be a farm girl and be without a truck. Ford truck in this painting I liked….a lot. I could tie my horses to the sides of this truck, and they would not pull it off. They could stand and eat hay and grain off it if we were on an overnight trail ride. So, I think to myself; how does a farm girl married to a Ford dealer keep a good used truck that she likes…. A lot. The answer was simple. You paint a picture of said truck posed in front of your barn with your horses and name the painting “my Truck”. Next, you take the original and hang it in husband’s office facing his desk and tell him “that’s my truck!”
