Second in a series. Mama always has something in bloom. Mid spring has a beautiful show of lilies adding flaming color to the garden. Also, showing up this time of year are playful kittens that romp and hide underneath mom’s flowers and shrubs. My favorite thing in this painting is the old wooden fence. I love seeing the grooves and recesses. As the lumbar takes on a patina the knots and holes give the wood a personality all its own. The flowers look like grandma’s dress on Sunday. Lots of color all mixed together, and not sure where one stops, and another begins. The kittens are true barn cats. Old enough to wonder, but not old enough to coax and cuddle cause mama cat hid them well. Looking into their big eyes you can hear them hiss and see the tiny claws spread out if you try to catch them. But you will because they need extra milk and TLC.
