A painting of my youngest sibling depicting our life on the farm when I grew up. The cow was a “gift” to me from my dad. Given to me to be a pet, little did I realize as we grew together, she would quickly become a milk cow. I would milk her twice daily and we would play with her calves. They were later sold, but Bessy stayed with us her long life. The dog in the picture I taught to sit up. She would gladly sit up for a squirt of warm milk. Little sister enjoyed the animals and loved them as much as I did. Life on the farm taught us much about living simply and enjoying the beauty of nature.
