When I was a little girl, I could walk to a creek with a cabin that was heaven on earth. The property was not ours. My parents called it the “painting house”. I loved looking for the minnows in the creek. I would punch a hole in the side of a tin can, tie a string to it, sit on a log and wait for a minnow to swim inside. After my big fishing adventure, I would pour them back into their home so I could catch them again another day. I have had several goldfish ponds over the years. It is mesmerizing to set and watch as they glide effortlessly back and forth. God gave us special jewels in nature. Hummingbirds, butterflies, beautiful stones and goldfish are high on my list of treasures.
