Fresh Snow is a painting of my farm years ago. Things have changed with the passage of time. Horses have come and gone. Hopefully, most found good homes with equine enthusiasts who loved and cared for them. Things I like about this painting. The blues, grey and many whites remind me how a snow can transform a landscape until you feel you have entered another world. I have lived this scene many times, stalling horses overnight knowing snow would cover your world by morning. The Daylight and all the horses are anxious to be freed and release their built-up energy. You open doors and horses smell, snort and are wide eyed. Instead of running, they cautiously walk into the power drifts. They dip their noses into the snow. Maybe they try a trot, or a buck and then finally each one will fall to their knees, place their head in the snow, lie down and roll. Their version of a snow angel.
